Overview

The college has 7 hostels – Chittrar, Kaveri, Porunai and Manimutharu for men, and Amaravathi, Bhavani and Narmada for women. The Principal is the Ex-officio warden of the hostel.

The Warden is assisted by the Associate Warden, Hostel Superintendents, Deputy Wardens and Resident Tutors. The men's hostels can accommodate about 578 students and the hostels for women has a capacity of 528.

The rooms are furnished with steel cots, tables and chairs. Cupboards are also provided in every hostel room. All the rooms are provided with ceiling fans. Hostels are provided with RO water facility. Uninterrupted power supply is ensured during examination study hours in case of scheduled power cuts.

Rules and Regulations

  • Application for admission to hostel shall be made in prescribed form from hostel office
  • Admission cannot be claimed as a matter of right - accommodation is provided to facilitate studies
  • No student shall leave without written application from parent/guardian and warden's permission
  • Room allocation is subject to change for administrative reasons
  • Students are responsible for room fittings and maintaining them in good condition
  • Leave forms must be submitted with deputy warden approval before leaving hostel
  • Ragging is prohibited - defaulters will be dismissed from hostel and college
  • Writing/pasting anything on walls is strictly prohibited
  • Playing cards, smoking, consuming drugs/alcohol is strictly prohibited
  • Birthday celebrations in hostel premises are not permitted
  • College main gate closes at 9:30 PM daily
  • Use of induction stoves, electric cookers, iron boxes, water heaters is prohibited
  • Outstanding dues must be cleared before vacating

Mess Bill Payment

  • Mess bill calculated from 1st to 1st of every month
  • Bill displayed on 5th day of every month
  • Payment due by 10th of every month without penalty
  • 11th to 22nd: Rs. 10/- per day fine
  • After 23rd: Guest rate basis Rs. 120/- per day

Mess Reduction

  • Minimum 5 days, maximum 10 days per month
  • (N-3) days rule applies for reduction
  • Application to be submitted two days before
  • Only one mess reduction per month allowed
  • Violation: Rs. 1000/- fine + guest charges

Hostel Representatives

Five student representatives will be selected from each hostel to act as an important link between students and hostel officials.
