Unit 2 (4023)National Service Scheme popularly known as NSS was launched in Mahatma Gandhi Centenary year 1969 and aimed to developing student's personality through community service. The overall objective of National Service is education. This objective is attained through the service to the community.
National Service Scheme provides diversified opportunities to students in colleges to develop their personality through community services. Community services have covered several aspects like adoption of villages for intensive development work, mass tree plantation, technology transfer programmes, technologies for rural development, various training programmes for self-help groups, Voter Awareness program, Blood Donation Camps, General Health Camps and Creation of awareness among the public on HIV/AIDS etc.
Grand orientation program for welcoming first year students of academic year 2024-25, organized with excellent discipline and coordination by NSS team under the leadership of Principal Dr. P. Latha.
Awareness program through educational film screening for second year students to understand the importance of education and develop passion towards learning.
Competition conducted for second year students focusing on Women's Safety awareness. Events included essay writing, poetry, art from waste, certificate designing, poster making, and drawing competitions.
Grand celebration with chief guest Dr. P. Jayanthi (Regional NSS Co-ordinator, Anna University, Tirunelveli). Prize distribution for competitions and recognition of NSS warriors who helped during 2023 December floods.
Successful blood donation camp with 84 students donating blood. Organized in collaboration with Government Medical College Hospital, Tirunelveli, with Dr. E.N. Prathiba M.D. as chief guest.
Tamil Nadu Bio Diversity Conservation and Greening Project for Climate Change program. Successfully planted 203 trees around campus in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Forest Department.
